What is a company pension scheme and how does it work?

The occupational scheme is a collective term for all financial benefits that an employer promises its employees for retirement provision.

Due to legal regulations, since 2022 the employer must subsidize the savings rate of its employees (deferred compensation) in almost all cases!

But that's not all: everything you save together with your employer is deducted directly from your gross salary. Your occupational pension is therefore tax-free during the savings phase and you can save on social security contributions.

That pays off twice!

The occupational pension scheme offers you a sensible way to compensate for losses in statutory pension insurance and take your future into your own hands!

The following is an example of how this works:

All the information you will find here applies to direct insurance policies from 2005 onwards and to pension funds in which you have opted to participate as part of deferred compensation.

How exactly does this work for me? Where can I find my documents?

All the information about your personal company pension scheme is always with you.

With your own login in the employee portal, for example, you can easily view your data at any time. If you have any questions, we are here for you!

Bojan is happy to take time to answer your questions as an expert.

You are free to choose your contribution to the occupational pension scheme. We will then calculate your individual state subsidy and the amount of the employer subsidy.

If you wish to increase your contributions, we'll gladly check if it's possible within the framework of your existing contract and let you know promptly. In most cases, there are no obstacles to this.

Reducing contributions is always possible.

You will receive a copy of the insurance policy when you sign the contract. If your employer does not send you the original policy at the beginning, you will receive it at the latest when you leave the company.

As your employer's pension team, we provide each employee with a login for our online portal. This allows you to view the annual status reports on your company pension plan and all other relevant documents online. If you no longer have your login, please contact us at support@pension-it.de.
Important for you to know: there is an annual status report on your contract. However, depending on the insurer, it can take up to 24 months for the first status report to be sent out, as it is not initiated immediately everywhere.
